Thinking...

Get to the point. :)

Ok, I've just cried like a baby, on my own, diwnstairs in the sofa in front of "Deep Impact". I would of needed a certain someone for comfort, but you would probably just have laughed at me, right?! ;)

Get to the point. Films like this and e.g. Armagedon (which is by far better) really "touches" me. What is something like this would actually happen? I mean, it's not totally out of the question! What would you do?! No superheroes who could save the planet, and your only hope would be asking for a miracle. Sigh, i know, it's a bit depressing to talk about. But think again, have you really pulled yourself together and made the most our of your life so far? My plan is to start doing that to 100% soon, just gotta get through university first! :)

Corporate social responsibility

Ok, we have just had a relatively boring lecture in Corporate Social Responsibility. I'm right now sitting in the library and was planning on gettign some work done. We'll see how that turns out...

During the lecture, our lecturer talked about child labour. It is awful! If you think about it, we have such a good life by not having to enter the labour market until after gymnasium/university of after travelling around the world. Even if some of us are working part-time during school, but we still have the privilege to get an education. Think about the children in the 3rd world countried who are forced to work during shitty workconditions. Gap, Primark etc have all been targetted for using child labour to produce their products, but do we really think about that when we buy a eg. T-shirt?

Apple are also using child labour in Kambodja (i think), but they argue that it's GOOD for the kids. the pay they get for making the iPods helps them from starving to death. This is Apples argument and justification for using kids. Is this right? Sure, it is to some extent sicne the minimal income they get might give them money to buy food each day. BUT, it's still kids we are talking about. Everyone should have the same right to a "normal" childhood, but unfortunately that is easier said than done in this world...
